This policy explains what personal data FACTOR International Acting School collects, why we collect it, how we use it, and what rights you have over it.

2. What data we collect
Information you give us directly

  • When you book a class, course or consultation: full name, email address, phone number (with country code), city of residence, languages spoken, prior acting experience, links to acting profiles, your goals and expectations, and how you heard about FACTOR.

  • When you request a free class or free consultation: first name, email address, and phone number.

  • When you subscribe to our newsletter: email address.

  • When you contact us: whatever you choose to include in your message.

  • When you purchase: billing details and payment information. Card details are handled directly by our payment provider — we never see or store your full card number.

Information collected automatically

  • IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring website, pages viewed, and time spent on the site.

  • Cookies and similar technologies (see section 7).

Information from advertising platforms
If you submit an instant form on one of our Facebook or Instagram ads, Meta passes us the name, email address and phone number associated with your account, along with any answers you gave in the form.

Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time — see section 8. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did lawfully before you withdrew it.

4. Who we share your data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf, under contract, and only as far as needed:

  • Wix.com Ltd — website hosting, forms, bookings, contacts and payments

  • Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd — advertising, the Meta Pixel, and lead forms

  • PAYMENT PROVIDER — Wix Payments, Stripe, PayPal — payment processing

  • VIDEO TOOLS — Zoom — running online classes

  • Our accountant and, where legally required, tax or regulatory authorities
     

5. International transfers
Some of these providers process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States and Israel. Where that happens, the transfer is protected by an adequacy decision of the European Commission, by Standard Contractual Clauses, or by another safeguard permitted under Chapter V of the GDPR. You can request a copy of the relevant safeguard by emailing us.

6. How long we keep your data

  • Enquiries and free-class requests that don’t become bookings: 12 months

  • Student records (bookings, attendance, correspondence): for the duration of our relationship and 3 years afterwards

  • Invoices and accounting records: 10 years, as required by Portuguese tax law

  • Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe

  • Website analytics and advertising data: as set by each platform, typically up to 24 months

When a retention period ends we delete the data or irreversibly anonymise it.

7. Cookies and tracking
Our site uses:

  • Strictly necessary cookies, which make the site work — these do not require consent.

  • Analytics cookies, which tell us how the site is used.

  • Advertising cookies, including the Meta Pixel, which measure the performance of our Facebook and Instagram ads and let us show ads to relevant audiences.

Analytics and advertising cookies are only set once you consent through the banner shown when you first visit. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the cookie settings link in our footer, or by clearing cookies in your browser.
The Meta Pixel may record actions you take on our site — such as viewing a page or submitting a form — and send them to Meta, who may combine them with data held about your Facebook or Instagram account. You can control how Meta uses this in your Facebook Ad Preferences.

8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you

  • Rectify data that is inaccurate or incomplete

  • Erase your data (“right to be forgotten”)

  • Restrict how we process your data

  • Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format, or have it sent to another controller

  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time

  • Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the basis we rely on

To exercise any of these, email info@factoracting.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity first. There is no charge unless a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.
You also have the right to complain to the Portuguese supervisory authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD) — www.cnpd.pt — or to the authority in your country of residence.

9. Security
We use providers who apply appropriate technical and organisational safeguards, including encryption in transit, access controls, and restricted administrative access. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data and will notify you and the CNPD without undue delay if a breach is likely to put your rights at risk.

10. Children
Our classes and this website are intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page, with the date of the last update at the top. Material changes affecting how we use your data will be notified by email where we hold your address.
